Immediate opening: we are hiring a sewing machine operator in Bath County, Virginia. The role involves meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality; attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation; sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required; clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance. You should have: • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
