Join our team: flatlock machine operator (Virginia)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a flatlock machine operator in City of Norton, Virginia. You will work at a knitwear stitching unit. Day-to-day duties: • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet • Trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go • Press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation Requirements: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams 6+ years on the tools preferred.
