Immediate opening: general labourer (Yobe State)

Vacancy available: we are hiring a general labourer in Potiskum, Yobe State. The job is on a commercial building project. Requirements: • Willing to work outdoors in heat, dust and rain • Punctual and ready to do overtime when a pour demands it • Basic knowledge of hand tools like shovel, trowel and breaker Day-to-day duties: • Stack and store materials safely to avoid wastage • Carry bricks, cement bags and sand up to the masons on site • Pour and spread concrete, then compact it with a poker vibrator • Backfill and ram down soil around the foundations • Mix concrete and mortar to the correct ratio, by hand or in a pan mixer • Set out levels with line and plumb under the mason's direction Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
