Core maker wanted in Harper County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a core maker in Harper County, Kansas. The job is in the fettling and dressing shop. Requirements: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection The role involves: • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch At least 2 year(s) in a similar role.
