Foundry operative — Randolph County

Now hiring: we are hiring a foundry operative in Randolph County, Indiana. Day to day you will check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities. You should have: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling 6+ years on the tools preferred.
