Sand plant operator — Cooper County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Cooper County, Missouri. You will work at a brass and bronze foundry. Day to day you will check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle. Requirements: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
