Now hiring: we are hiring an argon welder in Cumberland County, Tennessee. You will be based in a pipe-spool fabrication yard. You should have: • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances On the job you will handle: • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job Full-time with occasional weekends.
