Great opportunity: we are hiring a blocklayer in Kittitas County, Washington. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Able to lay to line, level and plumb consistently Your main tasks: • Erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough. We offer $2,800 per month plus benefits. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
