Foundry operative wanted in Clay County

Now hiring: we are hiring a foundry operative in Clay County, Illinois. You will work at a busy iron foundry. On the job you will handle: • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring Ideal candidate: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Full-time with occasional weekends.
