Now hiring: we are hiring a furnace operator in Hanover County, Virginia. The job is on the moulding line. Day-to-day duties: • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes Requirements: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings 1+ years on the tools preferred.
