Foundry operative — Derby

Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry operative in Derby, England. You will work at an aluminium die-casting plant. You should have: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding Your main tasks: • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
