Retail butcher — Bonner County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a retail butcher in Bonner County, Idaho. You will be based in a supermarket meat department. On a typical shift you will trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts; portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights; sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain; weigh, price and label cuts for the display case; dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date. What we are looking for: • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling • Food hygiene / HACCP certificate • Able to use a band saw, grinder and sausage filler Rotating shifts.
