Immediate opening: metal caster (Nebraska)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a metal caster in Red Willow County, Nebraska. The job is in a non-ferrous casting shop. Day-to-day duties: • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles Ideal candidate: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards 5+ years on the tools preferred.
