Die-casting operator — Ketchikan Gateway Borough

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a die-casting operator in Ketchikan Gateway Borough, Alaska. The job is at a busy iron foundry. Requirements: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding Day to day you will shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities.
