Plant operator — Goochland County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a plant operator in Goochland County, Virginia. The job is at a stone quarry. What we are looking for: • Comfortable working long shifts in dust, heat and noise • Able to operate excavator, loader and dozer confidently • Good depth perception and hand-eye coordination The role involves: • Keep a safe distance from excavation edges and overhead lines • Operate the boom, stick and bucket to dig, lift and place material • Load trucks with spoil, aggregate and overburden using the bucket • Excavate trenches and foundations to the marked depths and grade levels • Level and grade the road sub-base to the surveyor's pegs and string lines • Work in coordination with the banksman and ground crew on signals Six days a week, one day off. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Walk-in interviews this week.
