Argon welder — Sumter County

Immediate opening: we are hiring an argon welder in Sumter County, Alabama. Ideal candidate: • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces Day to day you will read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
