Furnace operator — Fresno County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a furnace operator in Fresno County, California. Requirements: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling You will pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects.
