Immediate opening: foundry worker (West Virginia)

Now hiring: we are hiring a foundry worker in Jackson County, West Virginia. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Your main tasks: • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces You should have: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
