What we are looking for: • Able to read weld symbols and fabrication drawings • 2+ years on MIG/MAG (GMAW) welding The role involves lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints; grind back and re-weld any defective runs; check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration; set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness; control distortion with a balanced welding sequence; maintain the torch liner, earth clamp and gas hose.
