Day-to-day duties: • Stack and store materials safely to avoid wastage • Dig foundation trenches and pits with pick and shovel • Wheel barrows of rubble to the skip and keep the site clean • Set out levels with line and plumb under the mason's direction • Mix concrete and mortar to the correct ratio, by hand or in a pan mixer • Pour and spread concrete, then compact it with a poker vibrator Requirements: • Punctual and ready to do overtime when a pour demands it • Able to lift and carry heavy loads such as 50 kg cement bags all day $3,300 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
