Garment machinist — Calderdale

On a typical shift you will clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required; trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go; match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching; topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish. Requirements: • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines Full-time, day shift. £1,900 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
