Precision welder — Jasper County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a precision welder in Jasper County, Iowa. You will be based at a busy sheet-metal workshop. Your main tasks: • Weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) Requirements: • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day Performance bonus on top of base pay. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
