Fettler — Dutsin Ma

Immediate opening: we are hiring a fettler in Dutsin Ma, Katsina State. You will be based in the fettling and dressing shop. Ideal candidate: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor Day-to-day duties: • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects 6+ years on the tools preferred.
