Trainee butcher — Rockland County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a trainee butcher in Rockland County, New York. You will work at an abattoir or slaughterhouse. Requirements: • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required The role involves sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date; vacuum-pack and wrap customer orders; season and marinate meat on request; debone shoulders, legs and loins with a boning knife; trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts. 4+ years on the tools preferred.
