Port container crane operator — Panola County

Now hiring: we are hiring a port container crane operator in Panola County, Mississippi. The job is in a steel fabrication workshop. Your main tasks: • Read and interpret the load chart before every lift • Keep a safe distance from overhead power lines • Follow hand signals and radio calls from the banksman or slinger • Grease the slew ring and inspect the wire rope for broken strands • Carry out pre-start checks on the crane, wire ropes and hook block • Fit the counterweights and check the ground bearing pressure Ideal candidate: • Valid crane operator licence or certificate (CPCS, NPORS or local equivalent) • Physically fit to climb ladders and work long shifts • Current medical and eyesight certificate Full-time, day shift.
