You should have: • Valid HGV/LGV Class 1 (C+E) licence • Confident with manual handling and load securing • Clean driving record with no recent endorsements Day to day you will reverse and carry out blind-side manoeuvres at loading bays; check tyre pressures, engine oil, coolant and brake fluid levels; log working hours on the tachograph and swap driver cards; plan routes and rest stops in line with driving-hours rules; carry out daily walk-around vehicle checks before setting off; secure loads with ratchet straps, chains and load bars.
