We are recruiting: we are hiring a core maker in Monroe County, Georgia. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. You should have: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal The role involves: • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
