Die-casting operator — Calhoun County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a die-casting operator in Calhoun County, Illinois. You will work at a brass and bronze foundry. The role involves make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring. You should have: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. Rotating shifts.
