Head butcher — Albemarle County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a head butcher in Albemarle County, Virginia. You will be based in a supermarket meat department. You will portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights; keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools; trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts; vacuum-pack and wrap customer orders; monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain; season and marinate meat on request. What we are looking for: • Physically fit to lift carcasses and stand all day • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • Able to use a band saw, grinder and sausage filler We offer $4,700 per month plus benefits.
