Join our team: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. On a typical shift you will shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring. Requirements: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards 4+ years on the tools preferred.
