Immediate opening: foundry worker (Illinois)

Join our team: we are hiring a foundry worker in Crawford County, Illinois. You will be based in the fettling and dressing shop. The role involves operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects. You should have: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
