Vacancy available: we are hiring a lorry driver in Union County, Illinois. You will work at a container freight yard. Ideal candidate: • Valid digital tachograph card • Confident with manual handling and load securing • Physically fit for long hours behind the wheel Day to day you will check load weight and axle distribution against permitted limits; reverse and carry out blind-side manoeuvres at loading bays; operate tail-lifts and pump trucks during loading and unloading; couple and uncouple the trailer and check the fifth-wheel lock; plan routes and rest stops in line with driving-hours rules; carry out daily walk-around vehicle checks before setting off. Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough. Full-time, day shift. Meals and transport allowance provided. We offer $20 per hour plus benefits. Apply today to start as soon as possible.
