Immediate opening: we are hiring a brickwork mason in Roane County, Tennessee. The job is at a renovation and extension job. Ideal candidate: • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day Day to day you will mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser; laying bricks to the line, level and plumb; raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish; buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge; cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder. 2+ years on the tools preferred.
