Immediate opening: we are hiring an argon arc welder in Hardin County, Kentucky. The job is in a stainless steel kitchen-equipment unit. What we are looking for: • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage Day-to-day duties: • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
