Now hiring: we are hiring a head baker in Merced County, California. You will be based at a café with an on-site bakery. You should have: • Able to lift 25 kg flour sacks • Able to work early-morning and night shifts • 2+ years' experience as a baker On the job you will handle: • Laminate puff and croissant dough by folding in the butter • Roll out short-crust and biscuit dough • Rotate stock and follow FIFO on raw materials • Weigh and mix flour, yeast, water and salt to the day's recipe • Shape loaves, rolls, baguettes and buns by hand Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
