Vacancy available: we are hiring a core maker in Schoolcraft County, Michigan. You should have: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding The role involves fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle. Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Full-time, day shift. Apply today to start as soon as possible.
