Restoration bricklayer — Saint James Parish

Immediate opening: we are hiring a restoration bricklayer in Saint James Parish, Louisiana. Day to day you will buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge; laying bricks to the line, level and plumb; raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish; installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays; spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel; cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder. Ideal candidate: • CSCS card or willingness to obtain one • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. Rotating shifts.
