Pressman — Cumbria

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a pressman in Cumbria, England. The job is at a dry cleaner's. You should have: • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings • A keen eye for scorch, shine and uneven creases On the job you will handle: • Set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics • Use a pressing cloth to protect delicate fabrics • Operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments • Fuse interlinings and fusible tape on the fusing press • Keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure • Spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough. Part-time with flexible hours. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. Pay around £16 per hour, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
