Vertical transportation technician wanted in Suffolk County

Now hiring: we are hiring a vertical transportation technician in Suffolk County, New York. You will be based in a residential tower block. Ideal candidate: • Willing to join the on-call/emergency breakdown rota • Good head for heights for pit and car-top work • Ability to read electrical and wiring schematics Day to day you will test buffers, final limit switches and the emergency brake; fault-find control circuits with a multimeter and test instruments; install guide rails, brackets and counterweight frames in the hoistway; service the traction motor, brake and gearbox; mount and align landing doors, sills and car door operators; respond to entrapment call-outs and release trapped passengers.
