Fabrication workshop technician — Orange County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a fabrication workshop technician in Orange County, Virginia. You will be based in the profile cutting and welding bay. Day to day you will check the frame for square by measuring the diagonals; fuse-weld frame and sash corners on the welding machine and check the weld seam; clean welded corners on a corner-cleaning machine and chisel off the weld flash; glaze the double-glazed units, set the packers and bed the glass square; wrap, label and load finished units for delivery without scratching the profile; cut and weld mullions and transoms into the frame. What we are looking for: • Able to read cutting lists and fabrication drawings • Accurate measuring and squaring to within a couple of millimetres • Own basic hand tools (tape, square, screw gun) Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
