The role involves: • Fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads • Inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use • Take part in toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings • Guide loads through tight openings into their final position • Carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle • Read lift plans and method statements before starting You should have: • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
