Furnace operator — Calhoun County

Join our team: we are hiring a furnace operator in Calhoun County, Iowa. The job is at a busy iron foundry. What we are looking for: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts Day-to-day duties: • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles 4+ years on the tools preferred.
