GTAW welder — Suffolk County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a GTAW welder in Suffolk County, Massachusetts. You will work in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. What we are looking for: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage Day to day you will feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool; inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through. 3+ years on the tools preferred.
