Foundry labourer — Skagway Municipality

We are recruiting: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Skagway Municipality, Alaska. The role involves: • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand Requirements: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts 6+ years on the tools preferred. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Full-time with occasional weekends. Contact us to fix an interview.
