Vacancy available: we are hiring a single needle operator in Bayfield County, Wisconsin. You will be based on an export house sewing floor. You should have: • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines Day-to-day duties: • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish • Clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift • Keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line Six days a week, one day off.
