Pipe tig welder — Manitowoc County

Now hiring: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. You will be based at a precision engineering workshop. Your main tasks: • Strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding What we are looking for: • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight Full-time, day shift.
