Furnace operator — Emmet County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a furnace operator in Emmet County, Michigan. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Day to day you will shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle. Ideal candidate: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. Full-time, day shift. Pay around $4,400 per month, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
