Great opportunity: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Hancock County, Illinois. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. Requirements: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal On the job you will handle: • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle Full-time, day shift.
