Foundry labourer • Ottawa County, Michigan

Immediate opening: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Ottawa County, Michigan. You will work on the moulding line. Requirements: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Basic grinding and fettling skills On the job you will handle: • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings Six days a week, one day off. $3,100 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
