On a typical shift you will set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics; remove creases, wrinkles and packing folds with a steam iron; check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots; keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure; spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts; meet the daily piece target without damaging garments. Requirements: • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep • A keen eye for scorch, shine and uneven creases • Physically fit to lift bundles and handle repetitive work Overtime paid at a premium rate.
